In recent years, large-scale earthquakes have caused significant damage to many warehouses and factories, forcing them to suspend operations. As a result, the supply of products and components has been disrupted, and economic activities have been widely affected even in areas outside the disaster zones.
From a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) perspective, it is essential to reliably protect areas, equipment, and facilities of particularly high importance. Seismic isolation using our “μ-Solator” helps minimize earthquake-related damage and provides greater assurance for business continuity.
μ-Solator is a seismic isolation device with a very simple mechanism. In addition to being installed as a standalone unit, it can also be applied to isolate only the required areas, allowing flexible adaptation to various conditions such as installation location, cost, and construction schedule. Moreover, μ-Solator can meet seemingly contradictory requirements, such as “remaining stationary during normal conditions while providing seismic isolation only during major earthquakes of seismic intensity 5 or higher.”
Seismic isolation using μ-Solator is applicable not only to new construction but also to retrofit projects. By leveraging the technology and expertise we have cultivated through renovation work, we deliver high-quality seismic retrofit solutions that fit the limitations of existing buildings.
In conventional seismic isolation devices, seismic motions exceeding the allowable displacement range can generate excessive impact forces, potentially resulting in overturning. μ-Solator is designed with a fail-safe system to maintain structural stability and ensure the highest possible level of safety even in the event of an "unanticipated" earthquake, thereby minimizing overturning risk.
By simply installing μ-Solator on the existing concrete and placing a new concrete layer, the entire floor can be seismically isolated. As this system is categorized as a floor finishing work, there is no requirement to obtain individual certification or ministerial approval as a base-isolated building. As a seismic isolation foundation, anchor bolts can be installed and structures can be constructed. Furthermore, after a major earthquake, original setting can be restored by Electric Jack stored in the pit.

As easy as installing carpet tiles, a base-isolated floor can be constructed in a short period of time. μ-Solator is extremely thin, with a total thickness of only 3–5 mm, including the main body and protective sheet, enabling smooth operation of equipment and carts.

Flexible cable routing layouts are possible due to ample underfloor space. In addition, since the μ-Solator unit itself is only 3 mm thick, sufficient space for cold-air supply can be secured.
